buying music

Getting shit done before I run away for a week. (Yes, I am hiding away for a week.) Had a show last night, was suppose to get work done but my girl j.mena took a sick day so we went shopping. Thrifting. What we do best.

Back to work. Then off to a birthday dinner. (I am never done celebrating my birthday)

Side note: I purchased 3 CDs today. Yes, I buy CDs. I like the idea of actually having something to hold on to and read. It's the music lover and pack rat in me.

The purchases:
macklemore & ryan lewis - The Hesit
NaS - Life is Good
and Kendrick Lamar - good kid, m.A.A.d. city

All were worth the price. I believe in supporting artists and supporting GOOD music. So I only buy GOOD music. You should too.

little red shoes (hand-me-downs)
Jeans (Levi's) $15.00
Body Suit (gift)
Scarf (H&M) $5.00
Hoodie (H&M) $20.00
Jacket (Salvation Army) $2.50

Guttesnipe Tip - Go shopping at places like goodwill now for the after Halloween deals. Buy costumes for next year maybe.

NYLON Challenge: double vision part 2

Here is part 2 of the Nylon Challenge that I posted yesterday. This NC is from the same February 2012 issue with Nina Dobrev from The Vampire Diaries on the cover.

This spread however is about the latest trend which is neon. I personally do not like neon. I have seen people who can pull it off really well. They are able to add some pop color but overall I am not the biggest fan. (To be honest, I think neon looks back in pale people like me...) However I found a lot of great items at Salvation Army that might of changed my mind.

SIDE NOTE: Most places like Salvation Army, Goodwill, and St. Vincent stores have an area that is there "fashion forward". The clothes are a bit pricey but have a lot of the latest trends. In fact, this is where I found most of the neon items in this very post.

So look out for the "fashion forward" areas next time you go shopping!

Fall(ish)

It's pretty warm outside but extremely overcast. And since today is my first day back at work, I am OK with this nasty weather.

Today I went with an outfit that is office friendly and Fall inspired. Since my last post all I can think about is Fall fashion. All the September issues are coming out and New York Fashion Week is just around the corner. So much excitement!

Shoes - (Salvation Army) $1.50
Pants & Belt - (Forever 21) $25.00
Shirt - (H&M) $6.00
Jean Jacket - (Goodwill) $3.00
Necklace - (Target) $1.99

(My hair looks really orange today...)

Side note: My best friend J.mena and I went thrifting this weekend and I found some amazing goodies. Because of that I have two new NYLON Challenges, so keep on a close eye on future updates.
