jean jacket

 photo IMG_5784_zps66059fce.jpg  photo IMG_5783_zps93fad03d.jpg

I've been lacking inspiration lately. Just feeling really drained. Finding it so hard to get out of the house and actually doing something. Not to mention my anxiety for some strange reason has been at the highest it's been in a long time. Thankfully though today has been a breathe of fresh air.

Got out of the house, went to my favorite coffee shop, got some writing done, and strolled around the neighborhood. Amazing how many you can get big results from doing little things.

Finally got to take this jean jacket out for a test run. I hope you guys made your own DIY version of this jacket because people love it!

But really - I am a fan

 photo IMG_4447_zps3f6d199b.jpg

I am not the biggest football fan. My boyfriend is!I mean the BIGGEST. So I am learning. I don't love, love it but I am learning to appreciate it. Sorry - I am not one of the people who tries to understand it. I grew up in a soccer and basketball house hold. But now that Seattle's beloved Seahawks are going to the super bowl I am of course excited!

However. This post will make you think otherwise.

 photo IMG_4443_zpsc289bc44.jpg photo IMG_4442_zps5db002ae.jpg

I know! I am wearing a Lion's sweatshirt BUT IN MY DEFENSE I went thrifting yesterday in Tacoma with my boyfriend and he not only approved the purchase of this sweatshirt but found it for me. So I am of course rocking it.

(So Yes! I am that person who don't know shit about football yet wearing a football team's sweatshirt. Think it like this - it's the same way people who have never listen to Tu Pac, Biggie, or Wu Tang wear them on shirts. Just saying... At least I know who those rappers are.)

Haha! Sorry for that random rant. But with that out of the way, like I said my boyfriend and I went to Tacoma for doughnuts but ending up doing some shopping. So hopefully later this week I will have a new "review from the gutter" about two thrift stores we checked out.

boom.

It's soup weather! Went out yesterday and got a bomb bowl of ramen. T'was my highlight.

**Guttersnipe Tip: As you know I am all about taking shortcuts when it comes to fashion (buy bracelets and make them into hoop earrings, turning old cardigans into new ones, etc.) here's another cheap trick!

Turn leg warmers into knee high socks! It's simple really. All I did to make sure they looked like knee high socks was to wear boots and them tuck them into my socks regular socks. And then there you have it!

As Cher from Clueless would say "Pretty groovy huh?"

It's funny when you buy new clothes and you just abandoned the rest of your closet. Wearing yet again a Phillip Lim piece. But I mean how could I wear it?

DIY: striped jeans x Phillip Lim for Target

 photo IMG_2719_zps606453fd.jpg  photo IMG_2720_zpsef26018a.jpg

I was cleaning out my closet (which is so hard to do! I don't want to get rid of anything) and I came across a great pair of black jeans. I own way too many black pair of jeans, but this pair fits so nice! I can't get rid of them. So I thought why not just enhance them.

For this DIY all you need is a pair of jeans (any color/any style) painter's blue tape, and fabric paint (any color)
 photo IMG_2684_zps89658b11.jpg

1. Lay the pants down and make blocks with the painter's taping, wrapping it around the front and back.
 photo IMG_2685_zps634359e4.jpg

2. Then paint. Wait for it to dry paint the back. Then repeat for second and third layer of paint.

3. Now using the painter's tape again to make a smaller block or tinier striper. You don't need to do this, you can come up with your design!

4. And of course; wear it & share it.

These jeans go perfectly with my new Phillip Lim for Target tank top.

Now in all honesty; I was kind of disappointed by the collection up close and personal. It wasn't the best quality, I was low key bummed. I did pick of 3 items I did like which was pictured below. The pursers were the best thing about the collection and they were of course too much for my budget but more importantly sold out.
