Audrey, of course

Although I love my baggy jeans and sneakers Audrey Hepburn will forever and always be my fashion icon. She should be everyone's fashion icon. She's timeless, graceful, and truly made the little black dress what it is today. You may think I am giving her too much credit, but honey, honestly, I am not.

This is a rare photo of an outfit I forgot to post (a.k.a before I ran away from the inter web and social media) Channeling Audrey the only way I know how too.

Garage Sale X Garage Bands

Yesterday I went to an AMAZING garage sale! Best part; it wasn't just a garage sale it was also a free show of some of the best local bands in Seattle.

This mix of garage sale & show case of "garage bands" was put on by local DJs Hoot N Howl. Best known for their 80's/90's Tuesday nights at Havana on Capitol Hill. (If you are every visiting Seattle you MUST go see them! And if you live in Seattle and have never been... What is wrong with you?)

My sister Claire and Caela were selling clothes and so were a lot of other lovely peeps. I went and checked it out with my girl J. Mena.

Look! It's the boys from Gran Rapids!

As for today, well, I am off to have a nice breakfast by myself (the best date) so I can read my Sunday New York Times, then work, then dance the night away. I might love the fall but I will miss summer days like these.

I got the idea of tying a knot in my dress from my fashion icon Jules who blogs over on Sincerely, Jules. She's bloody brilliant with color, dresses with sneakers, and her wrist game is on lock!

shoes (Payless) $5.00
shorts (DIY shorts)
dress (Forever 21) $8.50

Necklace (Target) $7.00

Obsessed: Ladies of The British Invasion

I haven't done an "obsessed" post in a long time!

Pasted "obsessed" posts are:
Slightly different then "5 Things I love... right now" but similar in ways. This one is all about the Ladies of yet another music British Invasion. Yes, there is and will always be Amy Winehouse, Duffy, and the goddess that is Adele.

But there's whole new batch of ladies who all have a boat load of style!

VV Brown - Bright vintage Doo Wop style. She's a triple threat: Model, singer, and producer! Prefect "fuck you" anthems with class. A Billie Holiday meets Millie

Emeli Sande - An awesome mohawk, sophisticated preppy style. This girl rocks with a rumble humble gospel voice. Most def a Nina Simone and Etta James. Oh! Add a splash of Mary J Blige.

Stooshe - Bringing back the girl group! They are a cocktail of 60's style and 90's swag. A sexy beautiful mix: The Ronettes meets TLC.

Lianna La Havas - A clean well tailored lady who has a sultry haunting voice. Fionna Apple meets Joni Mitchell with a dash of Blondie.
