DIY: Sweater to Cardigan

(Currently packing for my screen writing retreat. Which means I will be MIA for about a week. I will try to update the tumblr and twitter. In the mean time....)

I got a request in my ask box on tumblr:

(The sweater they are talking about is here) So of course I had to do a DIY. Here it is done twice.

1. thermal sweater 2. turtle neck

2 ways to cut the sweater:

1. cutting a long a straight edge 2. folding in half & cut

2 ways to jazz it up:

1. sew on some buttons 2. with a turtle neck: make a collar

now wear and enjoy

Both sweaters were found at Salvation Army. The thermal was $4.50 and the floral one was $2.85

another time

Most people think the time they are living in isn't good/cool enough. That they wish they could live in another decade. I am one of those people. So besides Chicago during the 1920's I think I would of loved the late 50's early 60's.

Maybe it's because I am obsessed with Mad Men (or the fashion...)

breakfast joint.

I have many many many jobs. Four to be exact. And one of them is a waitress at a breakfast joint. It's a lot of fun actually. I love my co-workers, free food, the regulars are really down to earth. Sometimes it does feel like being on a sitcom.

It's a funky place. Usually, I don't really dress up for it because everything I wear gets dirty, but today I thought why not. It's the first day of spring. (But you wouldn't be able to tell by this Seattle weather...)

Half The Battle

I've gotten everyone in my family sick. But I am done being sick, thank goodness!

I am saving up for my next travels. Hopefully Ireland this summer. Working like a dog, blogging, writing, waitressing, stacking paper, other awesome adjectives to make me sound cooler.

There's something seriously wrong.

I've been sick before, but NOT THIS SICK. My throat has been bothering me like crazy since I came back from Denver. Fever, coughing, chest aches. Slowly recovering. and I mean Very very s l o w l y recovering.

I am so procrastinating like crazy. I hate being sick because things begun to pile up that I need to do and since I am sick I don't want to do anything. This silly and stupid endless cycle. This blog is not the only thing I am slacking on. So please, excuse the absents.

Act Like You Know Better

One of my best friends Miss Ericka W. is back in town from her wild adventures around the world. Last night we went out on the town and things got so out of hand. Yet worth every minute.

So today, even though it is Friday (a.k.a. my Sunday) I am taking things really really easy. I don't drink, but gosh darn do I have a second hand hang over.

ALSO! Let it be known, I got my nails done yesterday. I had no idea they would match my outfit...

5 Things I am in love with.... Right now.

5. Pastels for spring - I am not the biggest girly girl but pastels are sweet and prefect for spring. Got to head to goodwill ASAP to find some.

4. Color french manicures - Got a manicure yesterday and I should of done this!

3. The Hunger Games - Finally reading the book, want to finish it before the movie comes out March 23rd.

2. March Madness - I am a huge basketball fan so I am ready to mostly likely lose this March Madness but at least I'll do it in style.

1. Santigold's new music - She can do no wrong in my book! She directed her latest music video and it's beautiful.
