5 Things I am in love with... right now

Been awhile but don't call it a come back.

5. Summer Blockbusters
The summer was made for movies. Popcorn, pop culture, and air conditioning. I can't wait. There is a huge line up but I am really excited for the movie Neighbors. It looks so funny! Hope it doesn't disappoint.

4. Polaroid printer

3. Tatty Devine

2. GoldLink
I post one of his song on my last post but really; he's my new favorite rapper. Download his mixtape The Good Complex.

1. Broad City
I hate the show Girls because I can't relate to it. Broad City however is my jam. Also found out they are coming to Seattle in the fall. Super excited for that.

something about layers

 photo DSC_0002_zps15c1cebf.jpg

Hope everyone had a fun and safe New Years. Mine was wonderful! Super chill which is an ideal way to start the New Year. I went to The Flavr Blue show at Crocodile with my girl Gabby and the boyfriend. I took as many Polaroids and Photo Booth pictures as I could. (You know if you follow my Instagram)

(This song takes me back to last January. Please excuse my nostalgic moment.)

But this day - Ah! A day off. I didn't get to sleep in but there's something nice about an early Saturday morning when you don't have to work. The ultimate lazy. Just take things at a very slow, steady pace.

I think I am going to make Rose Gold my color for 2014. I mean my name is all over it. Literally. The watch is one from Nordstrom Rack and this great necklace is from Zebra Club, the brand Cheap Monday (one of my favorites) I mean, I thought that this paperclip necklace was made for a writer like me.

You could never go wrong with layers. You can certainly go overboard but never wrong. And coffee - is the best accessory.

DIY: Text Tee with Lace

 photo IMG_3591_zpsbbc76a9c.jpg

Sometimes I come across an article of clothing and think "Why would someone buy that vs. make it themselves?!" All honesty: Laziness. So people, from one guttersnipe to another STOP BEING LAZY!

Now that's out of the way here is the newest & latest DIY.

 photo image_zpsa299d4da.png

I found this picture on my daily trolling of the internet and thought "Yeah. I can make that." And guess what? I did. It's simple.

Very very simple.

Here is what you need:

 photo IMG_3588_zps48922bd7.jpg

Iron-on-letters ($2.99)
Lace ($8.99 a yard)
A tee shirt (any color mine - h&m $5.95)
You will be sewing! Hand or Machine.

The best part about this DIY is that you can make it more to fit your style. You not only get to pick the tee shirt color or the type of lace but the letters you want to iron on. I, of course, went with "GUTTERSNIPE" I mean really, what else would I have done?

If you want the "crop top" effect, cut about 4-5 inches off the bottom of your shirt.
 photo IMG_3575_zps188340ad.jpg

Important - make sure to test the iron to see if it is hot enough. Depending on what kind of iron-on-letters you bought make sure to follow their directions.
 photo IMG_3581_zps8268c3e7.jpg

After allowing your letters to cool down, place the lace at the bottom, pin in place, then sew.

Oh hey! My favorite part: Wear & Share - If you want post on instagram using the hashtag #guttersnipe or tag me @missestelle (I had a little too much fun with these pictures) Please Enjoy!

the following days

And like that, I am 24. Goodbye #JordanYear.

 photo snakes_zps6bd4c424.jpg

I had a really fun Halloween/Birthday. It was very strange and unique, but overall one I will always remember and I did have a great celebration. So for those who follow my Instagram know I was Medusa a.k.a. Versace Medusa when I put on my leather jacket and sunglasses. I even made my own costume!

This morning I wake up very very slowly. I am so tired! I partied way too hard and I don't even drink. Pretty sure I am suffering a second hand hang over. One too many Sheerly Temples with a splash of OJ. (The best drink by the way)

Got to see my favorite people. My dad got me Amazon Prime account (SCORE!) and my mom gave me Fujifilm instax mini 25! Nothing cooler than some old school polaroids. She was even able to find film with halloween frames. My parents are quite amazing.

I did get fabulous gifts but more importantly I got to spend my birthday with people that inspire me, love me, care for me, and are always down to have a good time. Now that was the highlight of my birthday.

snaps.

 photo IMG_3350_zps16230baf.jpg

I am a creative being. A left brainer. And I need, scratch that, crave inspiration. I need to consume art, music, movies, anything or else I just become utterly depressed. It ain't pretty.

Museums are not appreciated enough. Don't get me wrong, I use to hate them too. It was always a great excuse for a class field trip but they always seemed boring. That was then. But now, I can't get enough of them.

As promised here are some snaps I took of the Seattle Art Museum Remix party I attended this past Friday. Even got some great Instagram moments. Hope it gets your juices flowing and gives you an idea or too.

Get from behind that computer and go out! Explore your own city. Do something, anything.
