the following days

And like that, I am 24. Goodbye #JordanYear.

I had a really fun Halloween/Birthday. It was very strange and unique, but overall one I will always remember and I did have a great celebration. So for those who follow my Instagram know I was Medusa a.k.a. Versace Medusa when I put on my leather jacket and sunglasses. I even made my own costume!

This morning I wake up very very slowly. I am so tired! I partied way too hard and I don't even drink. Pretty sure I am suffering a second hand hang over. One too many Sheerly Temples with a splash of OJ. (The best drink by the way)

Got to see my favorite people. My dad got me Amazon Prime account (SCORE!) and my mom gave me Fujifilm instax mini 25! Nothing cooler than some old school polaroids. She was even able to find film with halloween frames. My parents are quite amazing.

I did get fabulous gifts but more importantly I got to spend my birthday with people that inspire me, love me, care for me, and are always down to have a good time. Now that was the highlight of my birthday.

#guttersnipe- It Takes Two!

Photobucket

So crazy but it's true this blog is two years old!

I've been looking back on photos and my style has definitely grown/changed! (There are things I will never change tho.) I think I am more willing to try new things and more willing to take more risks. I have most definitely got better at taking pictures and was able to expand my DIY work. And of course the biggest change over time has to be the 9 thousand different hair colors I have. I am pretty sure I've had ever shade of purple under the sun at one point or another.

(excuse this crazy photo from my #JordanYear Birthday)

There are so many fashion blogs out there that has been many many times where I think what I am doing is stupid and no one cares. But that's just a dumb thinking. I wanted to start a blog to help people who think fashion is about name brands and having only expensive labels. I want people to know fashion isn't a "club" for only "cool people." It's for anyone and everyone.

And not to be ashamed that you shop at goodwill, still wear hand me downs, or dumpster dive for clothes once or twice in your life. Work with what you got!

I also did this in large part for myself. I was one of those people who believed everything I just posted above at one point. It also, oddly enough help me build confidence. Not grown an ego or anything but learned to be nicer to myself. Be kind to my body and stop judging/comparing myself to others. I am like most people, I am my toughest critic. This blog, this fashion diary, has helped me in a lot of cheesy ways.

I just hope it helps someone else too. Here's to more years to come!

#JordanYear

And so it be begins. My "Jordan Year." Named after one of my personal heros Michael Jordan. Who's lucky number & jersey number was 23. (Get it now?)

(Me. As a "Gold" Digger)

Anyways, yesterday was my birthday and Halloween. I love my birthday. I love Halloween. I hung out with my mom, help her cook, craved pumpkins, made cupcakes, then went out on the town. Last night was wild to say the least. There are no words made yet to describe the wild (excuse my english) shit show that was last night. However! It was my birthday (I made sure I told anyone and everyone. Also DJ shouted me out - Thanks Jay Battle) and I had a blast last night.

Now I don't drink. So I was sober last night. But that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy myself. I actually act like I am drunk because my secret is no one needs to know you are sober. However, I woke up with a killer candy and dancing hang over.

Jean Jacket (Freebie)
Legging (Married To The Mob) Gift from my lovely sister
Shirt (Alive & Well)
Sweater (Topshop)
Shoes (Shoe Dazzle)

I am TOO tired. Halloween may be over but today is still Day of the Dead and I am getting so ready for my next favorite holiday... Christmas Season.

instaguttersnipe: miss october

Sorry guys, no outfit tonight. It's my night off. Instead I had a lovely pre-birthday dinner with my family. Since my birthday is on Halloween, everyone is busy doing other stuff so my family usually gets together before or after Halloween to have some good old fashion birthday time. For the time being here's some instagram photos from the past month.

First up: sister x sister

(First 3 all from last night on Cap Hill "Halloween" Night)

Looking back, this has been a great (birthday) month. A lot of little adventures and very strange stories to tell later.
