something about layers

Hope everyone had a fun and safe New Years. Mine was wonderful! Super chill which is an ideal way to start the New Year. I went to The Flavr Blue show at Crocodile with my girl Gabby and the boyfriend. I took as many Polaroids and Photo Booth pictures as I could. (You know if you follow my Instagram)

But this day - Ah! A day off. I didn't get to sleep in but there's something nice about an early Saturday morning when you don't have to work. The ultimate lazy. Just take things at a very slow, steady pace.

I think I am going to make Rose Gold my color for 2014. I mean my name is all over it. Literally. The watch is one from Nordstrom Rack and this great necklace is from Zebra Club, the brand Cheap Monday (one of my favorites) I mean, I thought that this paperclip necklace was made for a writer like me.

You could never go wrong with layers. You can certainly go overboard but never wrong. And coffee - is the best accessory.

Last night a bunch of us all went to the Chance The Rapper show. It was entraining as hell! (The show itself & the people watching) I have to say however I was surprised. Chance put on hell of a show but a very mature one at that. He is only 20 but has the stage presents of a pro. An true artist overall. Chance played all his cuts, did covers, and works with the live band called "The Social Experiment."

And on the other hand:

There's many things I am really freaking out about. All good things.

 

1. Christmas Season
I am in full swing. Shopping, wrapping, decorating, and of course hanging out with love ones.

2. BEYONCE!
I am freaking out about her new album; it's amazing. I love how she was like "I have an album, what shall I do with it? I know - just drop it. Just. Drop. It." Fucking beautiful. And sorry if I sound cheesy but I the day that it came out I felt so proud to be a women. I felt so empowered.

 

 

Just been on a good one and trying to keep it going into the new year.

Since it's winter - all I need to truly wear is Timberlands.

I am crazy about this time of year! Halloween is my birthday and like I've said this about a million times but October truly has the best sun, greatest color, and such rich inspiring tones. Driving down any street and seeing the trees change color. Ah! How I love it.

I also love how magical and witchy this time of year is. I use to think I was witch when I was little when most girls at that age thought they were princess. I was a strange kid. Deal with it.

 

These shoes I bought awhile back always reminded me of Teen Witch or something the ladies of The Craft would wear. Plus heels can make any girl (or guy) feel like a bad ass.

  

Also I got to check out a new fabric store today in Freemont. I'll make sure to do a post about it soon.

Today has been home, cafe, library, running, cafe, home again. And leaving once more to host a show tonight.

Been busy researching. There some dope shit in the works right now with my life. Don't want to jinx it but I am really excited to share. (soon.)

2013 Fall Essentials

Since summer technically ends this weekend it means it's that time again! I did it last year and here is my list for this year.

Door knocker earrings
(Of course) But this time I upgraded to a pair of chucky gold lions from Nasty Gal.

Knit Leggings
My favorite leggings from Target but in a new cable knit style. Super comfy, super cute!

Eucerin Lotion
I have bad eczema, mostly on my hands but cold weather doesn't help. It dries it out even more. But Eucerin (super rich) lotion is ideal!

EOS lip balm
On the topic of fall being a chilly time that also means cracked and chapped lips. No one likes that! Eos lip gloss is my favorite right now. Although it's a bit pricy look out for them on sale at drug stores or Target.

Big sweaters/hoodies
I am stealing "borrowing" them mostly from my boyfriend. A big crew neck, leggings, a statement necklace, and a pair of sneakers is an ideal fall uniform.

And all that note; every girl needs a reliable pair of kicks.

You know for the days you don't know what to do with your mane.

Chai Tea
Ideal for the fall season. My mother's friend makes his own mix, so all I do is add the spices to water and sugar, let it boil for an hour (makes the whole house smell good!) then store it in the fridge.

I just love my army jacket. It coast 5 bucks and is just a great style piece to vamp up any look.


Soft Pink Lipstick

Red lipstick will always be my go to color but a soft pink, almost nude lip is ideal for a little something extra in the day time. Very subtle and not too over the lop. My favorite is "Princess" by Covergirl Lipslicks
