5 things I am in love with... right now

Just got back from a trip to San Francisco and of course I caught something. Coming home just to be sick sucks. (If you have yet to notice I have the immune system of an 80 year old.)

With that said here is a list of 5 things I am in love with right now:

5. Candles
I've been all about them lately. Maybe it's because of the winter time blues but candles are prefect for this time of year.

4. Mean Girls
It's my one of my favorite movie of all time. (Next to Casablanca and Clueless) Hard to believe but the 10th anniversary of the film will be in April. Ugh. If that doesn't make me feel old... (Haha! I hate when people say that. I don't mind feeling old or getting older. It's life people!) Anyways - Mean Girls is the shit.

3. Zara
Although I find it too expensive - it's truly a great place for inspiration for my own creations. We just got one in Seattle haven't visited it yet but look forward to it.

2. Uniqlo
Now here is one of my favorite stores! It's also a bit pricey but the ideal shop for basics. We don't have one in Seattle (yet...) but I had a blast visiting it while San Francisco.

1. Fashion Police
I am obsessed with this show! It's the best way to see what everyone is wearing, all the red carpet gossip, and being able to follow Fashion week. Not to mention Kelly Osbourne is my style icon.

Drop Dead Cold

It's getting colder out there. Don't let that sun fool you.

It's February! The Sasquatch line has been released and I am trying to make it happen. I am being positive and know I will be going.

There's hella shit I need to be doing but I rather sleep. Or do something else. Ugh.

review from the gutter: Indian Summer

 photo DSC_0005_zpsa76c199d.jpg

It being a rainy lazy sunday and I thought I would finally check out/visit my darling friend Kim Selling at her new job. Kim (a fellow fashion blogger/writer/poet and overall dope human being) landed the ideal job for her; working at hidden gem of the vintage finds at a thrift store in Capital Hill called Indian Summer.

On the corner of Mercer & Summit (down the block from Top Pot Doughnuts) Indian Summer is a tiny spot but it packs a punch! Items vary from the late 50's to more modern pieces. Even has a nice little section of men's clothing  (found an awesome sweater for the boyfriend) and also carries adorable kid's fashion.

Not to mention everything is reasonable priced. ($10-40) Plus Indian Summer does sell, trade, and buy clothes so if you have anything you need to get off your hands or want to upgrade your own closet, stop by.

Now I am not just giving this store a great review because my friend Kim works there (although that does help) but for real, Indian Summer is a vintage store with no attitude or fuss. The staff is friendly, helpful, kind, and of course all have spot on style. You can find anything on those racks that will fit all shapes, sizes, and prefect for any age.

But the biggest test is; "Yeah, but did you leave empty handed?" No! I am proud to say I left with three pieces, something for the boyfriend AND I didn't break the bank. This guttersnipe couldn't be happier.

But hey! Check it out for yourself.

medusa.

 photo IMG_2678_zpsbee69ec3.jpg

For those who follow my twitter or instagram you know that I dyed my hair, yet again. I am no longer a  brunette, a red head, or even a grape head. I am rocking green locks. It's kind of wild.

Yesterday after some much needed thrifting (pictures below) my friend j.mean went back to my house where we did karaoke (thanks to youtube videos) then I cleaned my room and she watched a movie.
    photo IMG_2645_zpsb87f68e7.jpg photo IMG_2643_zps87eafc34.jpg photo IMG_2642_zps654e0be0.jpg photo IMG_2641_zps18c2758a.jpg photo IMG_2640_zpsab905f69.jpg photo IMG_2639_zps00e89b44.jpg

Now, while cleaning my room I found a jar of hair dye and thought "Why not?" The color was blue but because of my natural highlights came out green.

Of course I was shocked at first (price you pay for dying your hair at home) but after seeing all the great green tones that have been walking the runway at New York fashion week; I am ready for fall. And over some time I am in love with it!

DIY: half & half (button up lace)

ANOTHER DIY. Lucky you.

I saw this idea at forever 21 for $15.00 and then again at Urban Outfitters for $39. Yeah, fuck that. I made my own.

  photo IMG_0713_zpsbee29322.jpg  photo IMG_0716_zps58feb725.jpg

I bought this button up at Salvation Army for $3.75.
 photo IMG_0665_zpsd112830e.jpg

I bought the lace for $7.00 at the Fabric Store (Which gave me a little less than a yard)

1. Cut the vest in half. So it covers your chest. And cut right below or above a button as a place marker.
 photo IMG_0669_zps91882cc7.jpg

2. Sew the opening of where you cut first. This just helps with the pinning process.

3. Turn it inside out, pin lace to shirt.

4. Sew lace to shirt.
