Today has been home, cafe, library, running, cafe, home again. And leaving once more to host a show tonight.

Been busy researching. There some dope shit in the works right now with my life. Don't want to jinx it but I am really excited to share. (soon.)

I feel like I am 6 years again when I wear overalls. But that's the point isn't it? I pair it with this great floral top I found at deseret industries ages ago. I like the 90's vibe. Throw in my converse to tie it all together.

when feeling (pretty) lame

I pretty sure almost everyone I know has one of those days (or even months) where they feel as though they are doing nothing with their lives. Which is a pretty ridiculous thought because being alive is actually doing something. But you get what I am saying.

When I start to feel that way or begin to get too hard on myself about things; I remember how much writing helps. Cheesy, but true! It doesn't matter whether it's blogging, working on a poem, writing down a funny conversation I over heard or making silly lists. Once I do it I feel much better.

review from the gutter: Indian Summer

It being a rainy lazy sunday and I thought I would finally check out/visit my darling friend Kim Selling at her new job. Kim (a fellow fashion blogger/writer/poet and overall dope human being) landed the ideal job for her; working at hidden gem of the vintage finds at a thrift store in Capital Hill called Indian Summer.

On the corner of Mercer & Summit (down the block from Top Pot Doughnuts) Indian Summer is a tiny spot but it packs a punch! Items vary from the late 50's to more modern pieces. Even has a nice little section of men's clothing  (found an awesome sweater for the boyfriend) and also carries adorable kid's fashion.

Not to mention everything is reasonable priced. ($10-40) Plus Indian Summer does sell, trade, and buy clothes so if you have anything you need to get off your hands or want to upgrade your own closet, stop by.

   

Now I am not just giving this store a great review because my friend Kim works there (although that does help) but for real, Indian Summer is a vintage store with no attitude or fuss. The staff is friendly, helpful, kind, and of course all have spot on style. You can find anything on those racks that will fit all shapes, sizes, and prefect for any age. 

 

But the biggest test is; "Yeah, but did you leave empty handed?" No! I am proud to say I left with three pieces, something for the boyfriend AND I didn't break the bank. This guttersnipe couldn't be happier.

2013 Fall Essentials

Since summer technically ends this weekend it means it's that time again! I did it last year and here is my list for this year.

Door knocker earrings
(Of course) But this time I upgraded to a pair of chucky gold lions from Nasty Gal.

Knit Leggings
My favorite leggings from Target but in a new cable knit style. Super comfy, super cute!

Eucerin Lotion
I have bad eczema, mostly on my hands but cold weather doesn't help. It dries it out even more. But Eucerin (super rich) lotion is ideal!

EOS lip balm
On the topic of fall being a chilly time that also means cracked and chapped lips. No one likes that! Eos lip gloss is my favorite right now. Although it's a bit pricy look out for them on sale at drug stores or Target.

Big sweaters/hoodies
I am stealing "borrowing" them mostly from my boyfriend. A big crew neck, leggings, a statement necklace, and a pair of sneakers is an ideal fall uniform.

Sneakers
And all that note; every girl needs a reliable pair of kicks.

Messy fish tale
You know for the days you don't know what to do with your mane.

Chai Tea
Ideal for the fall season. My mother's friend makes his own mix, so all I do is add the spices to water and sugar, let it boil for an hour (makes the whole house smell good!) then store it in the fridge.

Army Jacket
I just love my army jacket. It coast 5 bucks and is just a great style piece to vamp up any look.


Soft Pink Lipstick

Red lipstick will always be my go to color but a soft pink, almost nude lip is ideal for a little something extra in the day time. Very subtle and not too over the lop. My favorite is "Princess" by Covergirl Lipslicks
