egg whites//neon nails

Got my nails done today! My friend MJ hooked it up, so best believe I feel pretty damn fancy.

On another note though, if you too want to get your nails done or just want to hang out, grab a drink, chill, meet some cool new people you should come to the event Seattle social event "Top Coat" at Trichome in the International Distract tomorrow evening. There will be drinks, nail polish, and music.

Fun little fashion tip - I took my scarf that I wore in my head the other day and tied it onto my purse. It just a tiny cute detail to help spruce up any bag you might have.

I am just filled with tips today! Another thing is simple DIYs can make any t-shirt fashionable. Rolling the shelves, the way you tuck it in, a statement piece necklace, or cutting it into a crop top. If you've been following this blog you know I am a big supporter of taking a plain shirt and giving it a make-over.

backyard rain party

 photo IMG_5869_zpsc58c8c85.jpg

A little rain never hurt no body.

Went to GAP, which I never do, it's become too expensive. However! Their sale rack is always on point like this button up for example. Original it was $69 but I got it for $20. Since it started raining it's ideal for this "spring day."

those pants say something

Awhile back when I was on tour with Mary Lambert we had a show in New York. I have a strange love/hate relationship with New York. It steals all my friends, can be a very lonely place, and is so expensive. However New York is THE best place to shop.

Of course the best place to shop is UNIQLO. It's like a better GAP, Banana Republic, and American Apparel all rolled up in one. This where I got these great pants. Although on the more expensive side of things, I love Uniqlo and there items last forever.

when feeling (pretty) lame

I pretty sure almost everyone I know has one of those days (or even months) where they feel as though they are doing nothing with their lives. Which is a pretty ridiculous thought because being alive is actually doing something. But you get what I am saying.

When I start to feel that way or begin to get too hard on myself about things; I remember how much writing helps. Cheesy, but true! It doesn't matter whether it's blogging, working on a poem, writing down a funny conversation I over heard or making silly lists. Once I do it I feel much better.

Try it out. See if it helps.

Just a random share. But better yet onto the fashion!

Ever since I dyed my hair green I see it everywhere! And ain't mad about it. Green hair taking over things. Clearly.

less style

 photo IMG_1837_zpsd9e60167.jpg
(got this great boom box at Goodwill for $7.00 - ideal for the beach)

I don't know if it's the heat, the laziness, that summer time freedom, or whatever but I am just less motivated to get dressed. I am just not a summer time stylist. I don't put too much effort in my outfits. (Which is a good thing and a bad thing) Good because I am comfy. Bad when you have a fashion blog and you are making choices that are lacking a x factor.

I am more inspired by fall and winter. I think it's because I am a girl of layers and in the summer time it's less is more kind of attitude.

 photo IMG_1830_zps0c87215f.jpg  photo IMG_1831_zps1400418d.jpg

I am so happy with life but the summer time state of mind but I am not really doing a lot. Just don't want to do anything. Maybe because I told myself this was the summer that I didn't do anything expect enjoy and here I am trying to fight that idea.

Oh well! Hopefully I'll just get over it and just be lazy.

But in better news; glad to be back to my natural hair color of purple.

 photo IMG_1836_zps7655fb63.jpg  photo IMG_1838_zps34408b6e.jpg

I bought this dress last summer at Salvation Army for $5.00 but have yet to wear it. I don't know why, it's ideal for summer and super comfy. There wasn't any real need to style it. A statement piece all on it's own.

 photo IMG_1822_zpsb2cff24a.jpg  photo IMG_1828_zpsa81cf3ca.jpg

And the sad thing is; I can not part with these little red shoes. I know they are going to die soon but I will wear them until they fall apart. I also have yet to find a great pair to replace them.

.... or something of that nature

 photo IMG_1229_zpsd198d280.jpg

What can I tell you other than I've been very inspired lately?

It's funny how a song, or a movie, a lyric, a poem, a picture, or moment can truly kick start your creative juices. Maybe it's the rush of summer. The weather, the sun, the idea of pure freedom. Whatever it is, I need more of it.

It could be this awesome book I was recommend to read called "One Hundred Demons" by Lynda Barry. A strange graphic novel/comic/book/memoir. I can't put it in one box because it's so out of the box.

I am trying to blog more (write about my life & fashion & shit) and I am trying not sound to sound like a total lush right now but I am in such a good mood, I bet a lot of you would find it sickening or cheesy if I went into anymore details, so fuck it! On to the fashion...
