& lack there of

I feel like it's so easy to feel lost in this day and age of technology. The internet is such a big massive strange world. But it's funny how blogging can sometimes make you feel as though you are part of something. I know I don't have a million viewers or readers but it means the world to me for those who do follow my blog and my fashion journey. (Thanks!)

Recently I haven't really felt inspired. I've been in and out for last couple of days which is very frustrating. I am becoming lazy and letting the cold fall consume me instead of using it to my advantage.

I've always said October is a magical month for me. It's my birthday and always been good to me. I also think October has the most beautiful skies. So I am going to go for a walk, taking my camera and my notebook. Hopefully that will bring up my spirits and get my creative juices flowing.

Maybe tomorrow I'll even go on a little trip...

I've misplaced my camera hence the lack of style posts. But for the time being; enjoy this list!

5. School Supplies
I wasn't the biggest fan of school but always LOVED back to school shopping. But not just the clothes. I was all about the new notebooks, new pens, Lisa Frank folders, cool pencil pouches. Yeah, I am a nerd.

4. Tie Dye
Seattle's own Alive & Well released a tie dye shirt and my friend Mary Jane just had a tie dye birthday party. Great little nod to the last days of summer.

3. BANKS
Another great indie star getting some well deserved attention. Plus I  heard she will be opening act for The Weeknd when he comes to Seattle; so I am pumped.

2. AlunaGeorge
I've been on them for awhile and it's great to see them blowing up! Get their debut album Body Music.

Oh you know, just bouncing around.

Lately I've realized having a fashion blog is more than a hobby. It oddly becomes it's a lifestyle. It becomes it's own thing. People do recognize me from this (which still catches me so off guard but I am very flattered) but having a fashion blog doesn't mean I know everything about fashion. No. I just know about my fashion.

  

What I like and what I don't like. It's about my personal style and how I do things. It's an interactive, live, public record of my fashion and style journey as a 20 something. A girl, a guttersnipe who loves wearable art and getting it for very cheap.

 

All honesty; I think everyone should have a style blog. If not a blog in general. Who cares if no one reads it or if it doesn't get big? It's something you do. It's something you like.

So; fuck it. Just do it for fun. Not fame.

blah. I am hiding away for a week. Which means I shouldn't even be blogging right now. I shouldn't even be on the internet but whatever. I am going to become anti-internet tomorrow. Right now... well since it's going to be a week MIA I might as well leave you with "something."

5. Writing
Of course my first love. I will always love writing, but lately, just been on it a lot more. I forgot how much it helps and how much I truly love it.

Got one in the making that is almost done and already planning the next one. Thinking about the coast with my boo thing and then who knows. Which leads me to number 3...

More of a winter person myself but there's a beautiful strange sense of freedom in the dead heat of summer. A passionate kind of living.

Download Acid Rap right now. I mean it. Right now. I have been obsessed for awhile now and the obsession is just growing stronger. Currently my favorite rapper in the game.

If you didn't know Supreme is currently suing Married To The Mob for there "Supreme Bitch" logo. My mentor and lovely friend Gabriella over at MISS CREW wrote a brilliant article about the whole thing. She truly breaks it down so elegantly.

The funniest thing is about both companies is that they "stole" "copied" or "sampled" the one and only badass that is Barbara Kruger. (If you've followed this blog for awhile, you know I am a massive fan of her work.)

Complex magazine actually reached out to Kruger about her thoughts on the whole law suit and well... she gave the best answer.

Either way, I am strong believer that nothing is original. Everything is an idea off another idea that has already been around for years. That we, as people, writers, bloggers, poets, artist; sample all the time and copy each other. The key is to recognize the fact.

Steal like a true artist! Because the best ones do.

Today I had a in studio interview with darling Mary Lambert and wonderful Amy Wheeler from Hedgebrook event about the event we will all be taking part on April 9th.

I got to get all fancy and get my make up done! I felt like a princess. Not a bad feeling y'all. Not a bad feeling at all.

After that I got some down time to myself then headed to work, so I need an outfit that could once again keep up with my business day. Clausal, simple, elegant. A more refine guttersnipe side of me.

It's that time of year where your body hates you and you become sick with whatever strange little bug is in the air. However I am not letting that get me down, in fact, the exact opposite. I am getting ready for my tour with Mary Lambert, starting a bunch new projects, writing more, working with me people AND being one of 6 new bloggers for Married To The Mob.

So yeah, I've been busy. I might be slacking on posts. But I will not forget this blog! Promise.
