the laziest beast

Sunday was meant to be the day of lazy. I am making it Saturday. I didn't go out last night and I am not going out tonight. I am just working from a cafe, then heading to dinner with family. Being broke and being lazy never looked so good.

Socks (Monster) $7.00
Boots (Nordstrom rack) $20.00
Leggings (Target) $7.00
Shirt (Goodwill) $0.99
Sweater/Cardigan (Salvation Army) $3.00
Gold Chain (Goodwill) $0.99
Hat (gift)

Now I haven't been lazy this week, just today. Actually this week was pretty jammed packed for me. The french boy who was living with me and family left (which is very sad. It was like having a little brother) but before he left me, him, and my friend Mary went to Bainbridge Island. I forget what a lovely day trip going to Bainbridge is. We rode the bus to the bus, hopped on the ferry, wandered a bit, and had the best BBQ.

That Fall

I do spring cleaning and I do Fall cleaning. And thank goodness I do Fall cleaning because I found so many amazing things in my room. I found the amazing yellow watch hidden behind one my of book shelves.

I also found many other goodies as well. Who knew I could go "shopping" in my own bedroom.

It's switching quickly here. Summer into Fall. I couldn't be happier. I am all about the layers. So put on, put on, put on, and put on.

a strange kind of preppy

I feel like an evil boarding school character with this outfit today. Like someone out of Harry Potter, or The Mysterious Benedict Society, or a Tim Burton take on an EX-catholic school girl persona. Or maybe it's all in my head. And it most likely is.

(blurry guttersnipe)

It's a beautiful crisp fall day in Seattle. The sun is out but prefect sweater weather. I found the shirt in the men's section at St. Vincent De Paul. I thought the pattern was so strange, but I loved how light the material was. Prefect for layering. So I cut the shelves off and paired it with leggings.

Necklace* (Goodwill) $1.99
Sweater (Salvation Army) $2.75
Shirt (St. Vincent De Paul) $2.00
Belt (St. Vincent De Paul) $1.00
Leggings (Target) $9.00
Shoes (Shoe Dazzle) $30.00

*I wear this necklace a lot, I know. But that's the point of being a guttersnipe. You have to shop for things that will work in all the seasons, anytime, anywhere. You have to find statement jewelry (Or any article of clothing at that matter) that is versatile and will last a long time. You can wear the same thing more than once (I mean I am not ballin' like that, so I have too recycle my wardrobe) but the secret is being able to mix it up!

DIY: Shred Something

To Shred Supplies:
T-shirt
Scissors
Tweezers (optional)

What better shirt to do a spider web/shredding effect than with a Ghost Busters Shirt
(Goodwill - $0.99)

 1. Cut off the seam/hem of the shelves and bottom of shirt.

 3. Stretch the fabric and pull a loose thread. Tweezers help but finger nails do too.

 4. Begin pulling carefully and the further you go up the faster you can pull.

5. Wear & Enjoy.

(semi) DIY: Button it up.

This isn't really a DIY, (it's too easy) but more like "If you got two and two make four" kind of thing.

bad to the bone

I went out dancing last night with some friends. Seattle goes hard on Mondays. (Well only a couple places in Seattle go hard on Monday.) NOW my phone & wallet were stolen but I am trying to stay positive. What goes around comes around.

Also it's dreamboat tuesday over on the #guttersnipe tumblr.

Shirt (Alive & Well) $30.00
Cardigan (New York Thrift Store) $12.00
Skeleton Legs (Haute Demand - gift from my mother. She has a pair too!)
