2013 is the new 2012

I posted about my personal 2012 on the intern archives, as well as my most played music this year. I also am posting pictures of 2012 on the guttersnipe tumblr.
I have no plans this evening. Which I love. I am going to go with the flow and see what happens. I think people put too much pressure on what to do for New Years and this year I didn't want to stress about it. I just want to be surround by people who I love and care for.

Of course I am going to have a crazy wild outfit! But that's just second nature to me. I could be in a death by glitter 80's prom dress drinking apple cider watching 200 cigarettes in someone's apartment for all I care. I just know I'll be one happy girl/guttersnipe!

Be safe. Be smart. Drink Responsibly & have fun! See y'all in the new year!!

DIY: Car Chain

The internet is a great source of inspiration. I saw this gold lamborghini necklace and posted it on the #guttersnipe tumblr and thought why not just make my own version of it. It's very easy actually. Goes a little something like this...

Toy cars
Spray paint
Gold Chains
Necklace clasp

These toy cars were purchased at Wal-greens for $2.50 each or go to the dollar store and buy them for a dollar.

Now with spray painting: do it outside, wear clothes you don't care about getting dirty, have newspaper, and wear something to cover your face. You don't have to but it helped me feel more badass. Don't skip the newspapers. It makes cleaning up so much easier.

Make sure you don't spray too close, keep a good distance. If you spray too close it will cause strange dripping marks and will take forever to dry. After a good coat of spray paint, wait for a hour then apply another coat. Wait another hour and apply yet another coat.

I sprayed my cars gold and also this cool matted blue color too.

After spraying a few times, store in a dry space (outside is best) Wait a day, then spray again with one more coat. You want to make sure these cars get a good heavy coat of gold.

Once nice and dry here are TWO ways I figured out attach my cars to chains. (Keep in mind, you can do it HOWEVER you want. These are just some ideas)

Option # 1:
1. Wrap wire around all four tires. Like so.

Photobucket PhotobucketPhotobucket

2. Attach a circle clasp to one end of your chain and the necklace link to the other side (Excuse my awful technically terms)

3. Then open the ring clasp to attach around one side of the wire and one side of the car, in this case the front. The back wire will be used for the necklace link to be able to put the necklace on and off.

4. Now you wear it & share it!

Option # 2:
1. Taking a circle clasp, open then and link then around the front two wheels of your car.

2. This one is a bit tricky because you need slightly bigger circle clasp. Ones that larger then the wheels so they are easy to clip on too.

3. Now you get to do it. Wear it & Share it.

There you have it! Super easy and I'll be honest a whole lot of fun. Warning though: Once you start spray painting something gold you are going to want to spray paint EVERYTHING you own gold. I say go ahead. It's like leopard print; a lifestyle.

so, what's going on here?

First off I hope everyone had a lovely and beautiful Christmas! It was a very small get together at my house but I loved it. It was prefect. Plus we had crab for dinner. How could a girl complain?

After dinner with my family, I went to the bar with my friends. We started this "orphan" tradition where we meet up afterwards and be with each other. Great way to unwind from the sometimes hectic moments at Christmas. When I got home last night I fell asleep watching Flashdance (I had never seen it before) and woke up to wear this git up.

When my mom saw me she said she loved my look but thought that there was just a lot going on in just one outfit.

But it's the really why I like it. I blame the hang over of holiday cheer and the watching of Flashdance.

I feel like Penny Lane from Almost Famous in this jacket.

Shoes (gift) x leg warmers (x-mas gift last year)
Leggings (Target) $7.00 x Necklace (Target) $9.00
Shirt (stole it from an ex-boyfriend & cut it)
Jacket (Miss KL by UNIF) X-mas gift from my fantastic and SUPER styling mother

I am so in love with this jacket! I mean I wore it all day yesterday and all day today. Someone said it was a great jacket last night and I told them "Oh, well leopard print is my signature color." They looked at me like I was crazy. Because clearly they don't know.

Wearing leopard print is a lifestyle. A heavy fashion responsibility. You got to repp it right.

Merry Christmas from my family to yours!

I LOVE this time of year! And let's be honest, christmas is never ever about the gifts. No! It's all about being around the people that make you happy. Whether that's friends, family, or whoever. It's a time to be humbled, thankful, share a moment with a loved one and to be happy.

Merry Cristalmas!
(2007 - my sister & I)

I wish you the merriest and happiest Christmas Holiday season! My sister and I being baskets.

it's all about eve.

Crazy how much changes in a day. Your morning starts off one way but your night flips into something else. I had one of those days yesterday. A good morning that rolled into an OK evening then the next thing I know turned into a shade of awful. So I of course had to do the one thing that makes me happen (besides eating ice cream) going out with friends and dancing it off.

On the bright side: Today is a new day. And not just any day, but Christmas Eve. I love this time of year so I am going to be happy, positive, and watch a "White Christmas" while baking cookie and wrapping gifts with my family.

Because if there is one thing the movie White Christmas taught me was "The best things happen when you're dancing..."(the best advice)

what your bones are saying

First off: My "What I want for Christmas - The Movie Buff" gift guide is up on Miss Crew blog for you read & share. Click here to check it out!

My friend Liz saw me today and asked if there was something wrong. I laughed and asked why she thought that her reply was priceless: "Well I mean why else would you wear those earrings, timberlands, and a necklace with a skull and crossbones? I mean you are too sweet to look that mean."

It's funny because I was in a bad mood when the day started. And I literally throw this outfit on and who knew my subconscious kicked in and took control. But of course as the day went along, things slowly turned for the better.

Now? I am getting started on my christmas DIY. Oh! Know I love working with gold spray paint..

Shirt (hand-me-down)
Hoodie (H&M) $20.00
Necklace (Blick Art Store - Think it was suppose to be a tree ornament. Oh well!) $3.50

breakin in winter

It's officially! I am ALMOST on my winter break. Soon I get to kick back (shop!) and enjoy this time with my friends and family. Today I went to the Dale Chihuly Museum today. Where I got a great boost of inspiration.

Also I've been doing a lot of great DIY christmas projects with my sister and friends. Of course I can't post them because their gifts for people but I will have a new guttersnipe DIY up by the end of this week. (Let's hope before the world "ends"....)

Hint: Gold. Lots and lots of gold.

And I know I've been wearing these high waisted disco pants from American Apparel non stop but I am a guttersnipe. It's all about working with what you got and not to be repeat offender. Make sure to mix it up every time. Plus if you own a pair you know just how comfy they are. And in all honesty they make me feel good.

This time of year is all about layers. The 1, 2, 3 method of course.
