Just because.

You ever have those mornings where you wake up and you're are happy. Just plain old school happy. No reason. Happy just because.

Well that's how I felt this morning. I jumped out of bed, opened the window, put on some good music and started my day. Felt great!

Of course the weather sucks and my internet has been teasing me but I brush it off. And instead of freaking out I made cookies (for a special person...)

shoes - timberlands
shorts - (Goodwill Men's section) $2.00
belt - (st. vincent De Paul) $1.00
lace body suit - (urban outfitter's sale section) $10.00
cardigan - (forever 21) Freebie
necklace - (goodwill) $1.00

And not like you need a reason to have a good day:

PRIDE Weekend

It's PRIDE weekend is Seattle. One of the best weekends ever :)

My weekend started with a CRAZY free show at Neumos for SOTA. Then Saturday I had to film Pike Place Market, do some street interviews, and got ice cream! Plus the weather is better, I am no longer sick AND New York State has made it possible for ALL types of couples to get married. Could this weekend get any better?

I am on my way to go film some Pride parade action then go meet up with some friends for some drinks.
shoe - (Goodwill) $1.99
shorts - (Salvation Army) $3.00
belt - (Salvation Army) $1.00
T-shirt (Goodwill outlet) $0.10*
Lace Cardigan - (Goodwill Outlet) $0.10*

*Goodwill Outlet is AMAZING! The best place in the world. You buy clothes by the pound. That's right... By. The. Pound!

I saw this lace cardigan and I thought it was a table cloth or something so you can only imagine how happy I was to find out I could wear it! One of my best buys and best finds.

Long Live The Newest Queen.

This is some pretty exciting news! (Well to me that is...) My wonderfully amazing friend and pen pal Giselle is going to be blogging for QOTG. She is amazing! Why you may ask? Well, here are just some of the reasons:

1. She's a HUGE comic book nerd like me

2. She makes incredible jewelry (some that I am lucky enough to own!)

3. She is very an innovative and creative artist.
4. She's just over all awesome!

Make sure to check out her tumblr and follow her on twitter! Also check her out on this blog as well as the QOTG tumblr blog too.

Been Awhile

Don't think I forgot about this blog. I've been sick and slowly getting over it.

Shoes (Hand-me-downs)
Jeans (JCPenny's) $7.00
Belt (my mother's)
Shirt (Salvation Army) $1.30
Headband (Is actually the neck of a t-shirt I cut. Very useful headband)
DIY Hoop Earrings

I am trying to make this summer a good one. Seeing as last summer, I worked most of it. So I am making a list of things I want too. Here are just some of the items:

  • Go to New York
  • Try a new food
  • Crash a party
  • Make at least 3 new DIY's for the blog
  • Finish my screenplay
  • Go swimming in the middle of the night
  • Sleep in my car
  • bond fire

Super random, I know, but I am super random. I've already done some items on my list: Watch the sunset on top of my roof and midnight beach adventure.

Happy (Belated) Father's Day/Kings of the Guttersnipe

Sorry. I was busy yesterday helping my sister move and celebrating father's day with my wonderful dad. Now you guys know how much I love men's fashion, so of course I had to have a special Father's Day edition of The Kings of the Guttersnipes. Please enjoy:

Oh! How I love a man who can dress. A nice tie, suit, and a freshly pressed shirt....

DIY: White Button-up cut out

I've seen these lovely white button ups on a lot of fashion blogs. They are beautiful and simple. Great silhouette, go with anything, and very fashionable. However, I haven't been able to find a price I liked. So I thought... I can make my own & make it a bit different.

What you need:
scissors
sewing supplies (Machine or if you hand sew like me: needle and white thread)
lace
Men's white button up.

First. Cut out a hole in the back of the shirt. Cut it so it looks like a triangle. Cut right below the arm pit and cut across like so:

Second. Turn the shirt inside out.

Third. Pin in the lace and sew the top first.

Fourth. Sew the rest into place.

Fifth. Cut off the extra lace.

Sixth. Make adjustments if needed.

NOW! Enjoy and wear xoxoxo

NYLON Challenge: T-Shirt TIME!!!

Nylon (Kate Bosworth) March 2011

Nylon (Vanessa Hudgens ) April 2011

OK. So this was a fairly easy Nylon Challenge, but it being my first one I thought I would start off with something easy.

In two Nylon issues they had a special on graphic/designed t-shirts. I feel like t-shirts should be simple and cheap. Well in both magazines (March 2011 & April 2011) the shirts ranged from $20 - $265. That's right $265.00 human dollars for a t-shirts. No pants to go with it, no necklace or shoes, just a t-shirt.

OUTRANGE!

I understand some of these t-shirts were designer shirts. But no one in their right mind will pay $265 for a shirt. And most people can't afford that!

So here are t-shirts that are just as amazing all found at Salvation Army:

All the shirts above range from $1.00 - $7.00
HINT: Want a really cool graphic t-shirts? Head to the men's section.
Then you can find a larger size, cut them however you would like.

Here are two I actually bought:

Due to these actually being on sale: both coast me one dollar.
ALSO... This video just makes scene:

La Rosa

I use to hate my name. It didn't seem to "fit" me but now (no pun intended) I am growing in to it. Rose.

Anywho, my sister graduate from college yesterday! Which was really exciting. So I was up late last night partying with her and her friends. This morning, tired, I woke up and did some summer cleaning. Then got some friends together and headed to the Georgetown Carnival. Got some pizza, walked around a bit, took some great pictures but didn't see a bearded lady. Too bad!

ALSO! I did a NYLON Challenge which I will post tomorrow PLUS two new DIY's. I am on a roll....

shoes (nordstorm) $20.00
Jeans (goodwill) $7.00
shirt - (goodwill) $3.50
belt (H&M) $4.00
Necklace (target) $1.99
Rose (from my mom's garden)

Sweet summer night music:

Miss Rolling Rock.

Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, Cherie Currie, The Runways, Stevie Nicks, Etta James, Nina Simone, raspy voice, longing lyrics, moaning, heart felt, rock, slick, classy. That pretty sums up how I feel today and kind of how I dressed today too.

It's another gloomy day in Seattle. but I shake that off. I ended one big project and starting another one.

Here's the newest Scatterbrain Promo Video:

ROCK
shoes - (goodwill) $1.99
green jeans - (Some store in New York, forget the name) $6.75
Black Shirt - (Goodwill Outlet) $1.00
Jean Vest - (Freebie - found it at a party)

It's strange how my hair looks more purple/red on some days. Today it looks like the tips are on FIRE!!!

I am also feeling this.....

When the gloom comes.

It's raining. Proving that all good things don't last long, but hopefully things will change soon. Better weather should be around the corner....

Here is the newest movers & shakers video:
