a girl in boy's clothing

Just got back from Boston! Did some great shopping. Yes, I shopped. I know I said I wasn't going to buy anything new until the new year but I was in Boston, on vacation. Why not?!

Plus we got to check out this great "hidden" store called Bodega. Was able to find some great must have items. Like this great men's Obey shirt.

I like dressing like a boy. It's just so easy and so fun. Being a lady is nice too but tomboy attire is far less uptight, as well as far less physically tight.

Ladies - Steal from your boyfriend. It's that easy. Ex ones, new ones. You most likely can pull something off of theirs better than they can.

Skull earring. Bat earring. Duh.

Fellows - Steal from your girlfriend. Why not? Who am I too judge.

for what it's worth, make it strange

 photo IMG_1979_zpse52e9fe3.jpg

With fashion you shouldn't go for the obvious choice. It's easy with style to have a routine or uniform; you got to step out of your comfort zone. For example; I don't wear dresses that often. As a reader of this blog you might think otherwise because I post so many posts with me in dresses. But that's why. It's a rare thing.

I've had this great dress that I found when I was in Chicago. I've owned it for years now and have only wore it twice. It's summer time so I am leaning towards more dresses. I of course have to take my own spin on it. So I did. Converse and a flannel. New uniform meets old uniform for something strangely different and fashionable.

I haven't been able to go thrifting or shop as much as I've wanted to because of summer laziness and work. But here are some of my latest pick ups:

The first four are all from Goodwill and the last shirt is from Forever 21. The first white basic I already styled when I had my ladies night with my friends. I am in love with the floral silk button up. It's Calvin Klein so it's most def a great come up at only $7.00. The black tank was $4.00 and the white see-threw tee was $5.00

The stripped referee looking shirt was on sale at Forever 21 for $12.00. It's more of a fall thing but I like it and can't wait to wear it.

inspired thrifting: last of miss chloe

So my beloved canon s90 powershot died the other day. I've had it for about 4 years now and I dropped it, so the screen is cracked. Very sad! RIP miss chloe (Yes, I nickname everything I own)

But before her sad fate I was able to snap a few photos from a shopping trip I took to St. Vincent De Paul with my girl Mary.

So please excuse the lack of post, since my camera is sadly no longer with me. On the other hand, I am also working on the new logo and fixing up the blog. I like it but I am in a new phase of my style and I think the blog should be too.

So once again, I apologize before hand if the website loads funny or is slow.

inspired thrifting

Slept in yesterday. Wasn't feeling well, so I went trolling through my tumblr and came across this video of Travis and Joshua. The two guys behind my absolute favorite fashion blog Street Etiquette.

Put This is On is one of my favorite fashion blogs as well, I can find Jesse Thorn a little strange and slightly off putting. BUT that's not the point... The point is I watched this video and was inspired to call up my girl j.mena and do some shopping of my own.

Thrifiting is all about the hunt and the find.

First up: crushed velvet shoes and dress

sheer & floral

fur jacket

I love thrifting for a lot of reasons.
One happens to be the awesome collection of labels.

Heaters

crazy "stamp" label

Pastel blazer/80's prom dress

gold watch/wrist game on lock

Found a lot of what I am calling "Supreme" florals

Then this gem!
(Sending to someone...)
